Lost in space

Ispirata dal mito dell’androgino di Platone, dove si racconta che in passato gli esseri umani erano divisi in tre sessi, maschi, femmine e androgini, che gli dèi tagliarono in due perché erano troppo potenti condannando così per sempre gli esseri umani a cercare eternamente la propria metà perduta.
Nell’animazione un menestrello narra questa vicenda di separazione, in cui un alieno diventa il tramite per un mondo nuovo e perfetto, pieno di amore e in cui vivere felici. Ma da cui anche, allontanandosi troppo, si precipita verso la terra e il laccio che trainava l’androgino/lui/lei, si attorciglia così tanto da dividerli per sempre. E’ la fine di un amore.

Inspired by Plato’s myth of androgyny, which tells how humans were once divided into three sexes, male, female and androgynous, which the gods cut in two because they were too powerful, thus condemning humans to search eternally for their lost other half.
In the animation, a minstrel narrates this story of separation, in which an alien becomes the conduit for a new and perfect world, full of love and happiness. But when he strays too far, he falls towards the earth and the cord that was pulling the androgyne/him/her becomes so tangled that it divides them forever. It is the end of a love story.

Areta Gàmbaro nasce a Palermo. Musicista in una famiglia che è un piccolo laboratorio d’arte. Costruisce il proprio spazio nel teatro con spettacoli musicali e performance d’arte audiovisiva, scenografie e illustrazioni. Questo è la sua terza animazione con disegni originali.

Areta Gàmbaro was born in Palermo. She is a musician in a family that is a small art workshop. She has carved out her own space in theatre with musical shows and audiovisual art performances, set designs and illustrations. This is her third animation featuring original drawings.
