Negli anni ’70, nella contea di West Cork, gli occhi penetranti dell’icona del Sacro Cuore guardano dall’alto ogni famiglia.
Mikey sfugge al loro sguardo trascorrendo le sue giornate nella libertà della foresta. È qui che incontra Pidgey, il cui caos unico e stravagante affascina Mikey, e i due diventano amici per la pelle.
C’è solo un problema. A casa, la mamma governa con pugno di ferro e un rosario. Mikey deve fare tutto il possibile per tenere nascosto Pidgey.

In 1970s West Cork, the piercing eyes of the Sacred Heart icon look down upon every household.
Mikey escapes their gaze by spending his days in the freedom of the forest. It’s here he meets Pidgey, whose unique brand of bird-brained chaos appeals to Mikey, and the two become firm friends.
There’s just one problem. Back home, Mammy rules the roost with an iron hand and a clutch of rosary beads. Mikey must do all he can to keep Pidgey concealed.
When the clock strikes six, the pealing of the Angelus beckons a reluctant Mikey home. As he kneels for family prayers, he’s horrified to witness Pidgey bursting into the room and heading straight for Mammy’s Sacred Heart.
What happens next will change things for Mikey forever.

Clíodhna Lyons è un’artista e illustratrice che lavora nel settore dell’animazione dal 2006. In questo periodo, Clíodhna ha collezionato numerosi lavori, tra cui quello di regista di episodi di Powerbirds con Brown Bag Films e di assistente alla regia di Rick and Morty e El Deafo con Lighthouse Studios. Nel 2023, Clíodhna ha diretto il primo cortometraggio originale della Lighthouse Studios, Póg mo Pigeon, lavorando a stretto contatto con la creatrice e animatrice Polly Holland. Clíodhna ha studiato animazione al Ballyfermot College di Dublino e ha conseguito una laurea in fumetti alla School of Visual Arts di New York. Clíodhna Lyons is an artist and illustrator who has been working in the animation industry since 2006. In that time, Clíodhna has racked up multiple credits, including as episodic director on Powerbirds with Brown Bag Films, and as assistant director on Rick and Morty and El Deafo with Lighthouse Studios. In 2023, Clíodhna directed Lighthouse Studios’ first original short, Póg mo Pigeon, working closely with creator and animator, Polly Holland. Clíodhna studied animation at Ballyfermot College in Dublin and holds a BFA in comics from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Alongside her work in the animation industry, Clíodhna has published multiple comics and zines and remains a regular guest at comic conventions across the world.
